VodafoneZiggo: the negotiation result for the collective labor agreement

What do we think of the negotiation result?

To answer the above question we must look at the results of the survey and to our letter of commitment which is based on it.

In the negotiations with VodafoneZiggo, we concentrated on the topics that you are least satisfied with (sheet 15 survey) and what should be given the highest priority in the negotiations (sheet 19 survey). Structural wage increases and better growth in the pay scale have been the two most important topics of discussion in the negotiations.

The structural wage increase

In our commitment letter we proposed a structural wage increase of 9%. This is the sum of a purchasing power repair for the years 2022 and 2023 of 5,3% and 3,5% for purchasing power maintenance in 2024.

We were unable to agree on this. Ultimately, we arrived at a total percentage of 2024% for 6:

  • 4% as of April 1, 2024 with a minimum of €150. As a result, the employee who receives less salary than €3.750 ends up with a higher percentage.
  • 2% as of October 1, 2024.

With a total of 6%, purchasing power will be maintained for 2024 (3,5%). The 2,5% that remains can be seen as the partial purchasing power repair for 2022/2023.

For the 2e collective labor agreement year we have arrived at 2,5% as of April 1, 2025.

The purchasing power forecast for 2025 is not yet available, but inflation for 2025 is estimated by the CPB at 2,1%.

This brings the total structural wage increase of this 2-year collective labor agreement to 8,5%. For those with a salary of less than €3.750, that percentage is slightly higher (due to the €150 floor). For example: with a salary of €3.000 you have 1% more: 9,5%.

In summary: Although we have not achieved the goals set in our commitment letter, we are still satisfied with the negotiation outcome. Purchasing power maintenance for 2024 and 2025 has been guaranteed and we have also been able to agree on a 2,5% compensation for previous years.

We are also happy with the minimum increase of €150 for the lower salary scales. The same applies to the adjustment of the salary range to 1%-2025% as of January 80, 110. The lower salary scales also benefit from this.

Growth in the salary scale

I would like to refer you to the text of the negotiation result for the agreements made.

A People Leader is provided with a total budget for individual salary increases, which is equal to the current room for this. This gives him/her the opportunity to differentiate in individual pay increases depending on performance and RSP.

As employees, you have indicated that there is a desire for a fairer remuneration methodology. We believe that this agreement is an important step in that direction.

Other topics

For the agreements on other subjects, I would like to refer to the text of the negotiation result.

I would like to draw attention to two topics in particular. That is the increase in the Connected Working allowance and that is the explanation for the topic of Sustainable Employability.

With regard to the latter, VodafoneZiggo has clearly stated that it considers this a very important subject and also that improving the sustainable employability of the employee is by definition tailor-made. Each employee can, in consultation with his manager, discuss possible interventions and actions that promote and/or increase his/her sustainable employability.

Tand finally

We think it is important to say that at the end of the third conversation with VodafoneZiggo we were able to conclude that we have achieved a realistic result. We were unable to fulfill a number of wishes, but the same applies to your employer.

Your voice

In order to vote, all employees will be contacted by the independent research agency Innervoice. You will receive a message via your work email address with a link to a voting form where you can then cast a vote, with an explanation if desired. The voting runs from March 4 to 15, 2024. The result will be announced on March 18
