Collective Labor Agreement Banks: Pension consultation

The Collective Labor Agreement for Banks has a so-called minimum pension scheme. The collective labor agreement sets out the minimum requirements the pension scheme must meet. The organization's works council negotiates with the employer about the pension scheme. There is still a lot of room above the minimum arrangement of the collective labor agreement and this is also used in practice.

Pension transition Wtp

The Future Pensions Act (Wtp) has been in force since mid-2023. Appearance on
From 1 January 2028, all pension schemes must comply with the rules of the Wtp. This still seems far away, but appearance is part of this transition
A transition plan must be submitted by January 1, 2025. In order to enable all banks affiliated to the collective labor agreement and their works councils to do this, we must quickly arrive at an amended collective labor agreement text on the minimum pension scheme.

Parties to the collective labor agreement determine a minimum pension scheme. The works council and the employer then determine the new pension scheme and the transition plan, whereby they must at least comply with the minimum pension scheme. But of course they must also ensure that the new pension scheme for employees is not worse than the current pension scheme. Works councils can of course rely on this De Unie if they want support in the negotiations about a new pension scheme and the transition plan.

Agenda

It has been agreed not to wait for the collective labor agreement negotiations, but to have negotiations in the short term exclusively about the minimum pension scheme.

The plan is as follows:

  • February 13, 2024 first consultation
  • February 27, 2024 follow-up meeting

 

 

Proposal letter De Unie

The first step is now to develop a proposal together with the members, which is the basis for consultation with the employer. Here you can read the draft proposal. The members have received an invitation to express their opinion. This is possible until January 22, 2024.

Interim change in collective labor agreement

The parties aim to have a negotiation result in March 2024. Because this is a change to the collective labor agreement content, De Unie present the outcome of the negotiations to the members. And of course we will keep the members informed of the progress.
