Insurance companies: Collective labor agreement update

December 15 2023

With this message we inform you about the negotiations for a new collective labor agreement for Insurance Companies from Wednesday, December 13, 2023. The good news is that we have taken steps towards each other this round and the bad news is that we have not yet reached an agreement.

Propose

During the collective labor agreement consultation on December 13, we approached each other on a number of topics, including wages. Employers now propose 6% in combination with a 12-month collective labor agreement and we propose 9% for a 12-month collective labor agreement. With regard to pensions, we are still negotiating the ambition, the level of the flat premium and the contribution from employers and employees.

We are dropping a number of things from our joint efforts because there is no support for this on the employer side. Then you should consider sports, travel expenses and home work allowance in the collective labor agreement. Employers indicate that it is up to individual companies to be an attractive employer in this regard. Topics that have been discussed and will be recurring include a generation pact scheme, development plan, informal care, May 5 paid time off and a study into a possible wage gap.

Although we have largely come to terms with each other, there are still quite a few items on the agenda to negotiate on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. It is the last planned meeting and we will see if we can reach an agreement. Whether we reach an agreement or not, the collective labor agreement will continue to apply to all parts on January 1, 2024 until a new one is in place.
