VGZ collective labor agreement negotiations

December 07 2022

Last Thursday, trade unions and VGZ had collective bargaining. The conversations are constructive and in a good atmosphere. We already have agreement on a number of topics. The wage section has been discussed briefly, but that is also the point that will generate the most discussion. And we are still far apart.

Hybrid work

From De Unie a proposal has been made to reimburse business kilometers in a way that is as tax-maximal as possible. This means 1 cents per km as of 2023 January 0,21 and 1 cents per km as of 2024 January 0,22. VGZ agrees with this. The working@home allowance can be claimed per home working day against the fiscal maximum amount (net 2,13 euros per home working day).

VGZ has investigated the occupancy at the offices and asked itself the question of whether it is necessary to open the offices fully five days a week. It is proposed to conduct a pilot to see whether it would be workable if, for example, once every two or three weeks on a Friday, people could only work from home. We will discuss this further with VGZ. After all, where it is really not possible or desirable for employees to work from home, a solution will still have to be found.

Leave arrangements

Since August this year, the law offers parents the option of taking parental leave partly paid (by the UVW). We would like to see a supplement to this by VGZ up to 100% of the salary. VGZ would like to supplement the amount paid by the UWV to 70% of the salary.

The three unions have all proposed to designate May 5 as a standard day off. This is now regulated in more and more collective labor agreements. VGZ will come back to this, but is not completely negative about it.

Other

We talked about the Personal Training Budget. What De Unie As far as this is concerned, the current agreements on this will simply be continued. VGZ is also positive about this. The pilot 63+ can perhaps be converted into a fixed appointment. Finally, we are in talks with VGZ about extending the social plan unchanged.

We have already talked about many topics, but we are not there yet. Another meeting is scheduled for December 12. If you have any questions, comments or want to say something, you can email me at harma.pethke@unie.nl.
