Achmea: Result achieved

December 08 2023
Achmea

On Thursday, December 7, we reached a negotiation result with Achmea for the new collective labor agreement. A result that did not come easily. We have also reported on this in the previous information.

We are currently still working on putting the agreements on paper. We will also be working in the coming days to organize the employee consultation that has already been announced. After all, the final word belongs to the employees. In this message we would like to share with you the most important agreements we have made with Achmea.

The most important agreements are:

  • Duration
    21 months (December 1, 2023 to September 1, 2025).
  • Loon
    – On 1-1-2024, wages and pay scales (C to H) will be structurally increased by 7%.
    – On 1-1-2024, wages and pay scales (I to K) will be structurally increased by 6%.
    – Both increases have a 'floor' of EUR 300 gross per month (for part-timers this amount is pro rata).
    – By the end of February 2024 at the latest, all employees employed on December 1, 2023 will receive a one-off payment of 2000 euros gross (part-timers or employees who have been employed for less than a year will receive the payment pro rata).
    – On 1-1-2025, wages and pay scales will be structurally increased by 4%.
    – The overtime scheme will be expanded to include job group H.
    – The maximums of salary scales I, J and K will be increased by 1, 2 and 3 increments respectively. This will create room for growth in these scales as of January 1, 1. The whole will be redistributed over 2025 increments, so that all employees in these scales will immediately benefit from it as of January 10, 1.
  • Retirement
Until the introduction of the new pension scheme in the context of the Wtp, the current pension scheme will remain applicable unchanged.
  • 34-hour working week
The existing transitional arrangement will not be extended. However, the Achmea Select application procedure will be tightened up for more/fewer hours, including an objection procedure. This still needs to be worked out.
In addition, the number of selection moments will be expanded, the Select hours will count as a basis for the profit distribution and there will be a safety net arrangement (partial financial compensation) during the term of the collective labor agreement if additional Select hours are not allocated.
  • 'Pay per use'
In addition to the previous information about this scheme, the kilometer allowance for traveling by motorcycle/car using fossil fuel will be increased to 21 cents per kilometer.

So far the main points of the result. Members will receive the final and complete text in the course of next week. We will therefore provide further comments on the result. Comment that we will 'mirror' the outcome of the previous employee survey. After all, this has always been the starting point for us in these negotiations.

We will also provide further information about how and when to vote.
