A number of agreements have been made in the collective labor agreement that must be worked out during the term of the collective labor agreement.

This takes place in the periodic consultation and the various working groups that have been set up. The main topics that have been worked on in the past month are:

  • Global grading
  • text of the collective labor agreement and the social plan
  • the pilot unlimited leave.

Global grading

Aegon is switching to a new job evaluation system. The global grading system of Willis Towers Watson (WTW), which is used internationally by Aegon, has been chosen. Agreements have been made in the collective labor agreement to ensure that the transition proceeds as smoothly as possible. In the first part of the project, the job description will be updated in the current Korn Ferry system. As a result, your position is plotted at the right level. The second part is followed by an administrative conversion to the new WTW system. To ensure that this process is carried out properly, you have a say at two points. De Unie finds it important that employees are properly involved, because placement in a lower job grade has major consequences for you. The project has entered the phase where managers explain the various functions in interviews with the system owner Korn Ferry, so that a good job description can be made. The focus groups will be set up from April. In these focus groups you can give your input on the description of your position. Use this opportunity to ensure a correct description of your position.

Texts

The texts of the new collective labor agreement and the new social plan have now been adopted. You can here view your collective labor agreement.

Pilot unlimited leave

We discussed the unlimited leave pilot with Aegon. The pilot will start in the autumn of 2021. There is still a lot to be done in the preparation. One of the preparations is that employees must have a say on whether or not their team will participate in the pilot.

Time and place independent work

We have been forced to work from home for a year now. Aegon has concluded that working from home is a permanent situation. The Smart Working concept is now being applied. To this end, the office is set up for collaborative workplaces and consultation situations, with a limited number of regular workplaces. This raises a number of issues. What is a pleasant change from the office and working from home for employees? How can teams continue to work well together? Will there be enough workplaces for employees who cannot or do not want to work from their own home? There is no answer to these and other questions yet. We have indicated that we would like to give advice on this. Most major insurers are making the same move as Aegon. And of course we want to share this knowledge in the interest of the employees.

Reorganisations

Aegon is preparing reorganisations to reduce costs. De Unie is regularly updated about this. Is your department involved in a reorganization? Please contact us if you have any questions.
