Dairy industry: New negotiation result

May 17, 2023

An improved result has been achieved for the new dairy collective labor agreement. Due to the actions of the other unions, the employer ultimately chose to make an amended proposal. Because there are changes in this proposal compared to the old proposal, we ask our members to vote again on this result. We explain below what has changed. These are changes compared to the existing proposal, the other points remain the same.

Wage and term

The term of the collective labor agreement has been extended from 12 to 15 months. The first wage increase of 8% as of 1-1-2023 will be maintained. A wage increase of 1% will be added as of 1-2024-2,65. In addition, as of 1-1-2024, the 1% of the sustainable employability budget will be converted into a 1% wage increase. This is in addition to the 2,65%.

All of the above applies to employees who do not fall under a separate HP company scheme in accordance with Article 4, paragraph 3. If you do fall under a company scheme in accordance with Article 4, paragraph 3, you will receive the 1% conversion of the sustainable employability budget in the form of a personal allowance per 1-1-2024. This is fixed in terms of prosperity (follows the general wage development in the collective labor agreement) and pensionable. You will also receive holiday allowance, end-of-year bonus and any shift allowance.

Termination of sustainable employability budget

The sustainable employability budget will therefore be terminated on 1-1-2024. You can still spend the already accrued budget via the budget until 1-9-2023. If the accrued budget has not been spent, this accrued amount will be paid out at the end of 2023.

Improvement scheme for early retirement (RVU)

To be able to use the RVU you needed 45 years of service with the same employer. This has been reduced to 35 years of service and extended to various employers in the dairy industry. It is up to the employee to demonstrate this and you still have to meet the other conditions. In this way, more employees can use the RVU.

Improvement consignment arrangement

The consignment arrangement will be improved by an increase in the fee:

  • from Monday to Friday from 4,8% to 6% of the job salary per hour;
  • on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 13,5% to 17% of the job salary per hour.

In addition, the hours that have not been made by the consignment service no longer have to be made up.

What do you think De Unie?

We believe that the current negotiation outcome is an improvement on the NZO's latest final offer. We regret that the sustainable employability budget is being terminated. It is important to continue to focus on sustainable employability of the staff. We had requested an extension of the spending options of this budget. With the conversion to a structural salary or a prosperity-related personal allowance, you can spend the amount as you see fit.

Until when can I vote?

The members have received an invitation to vote. Voting is open immediately and closes Wednesday, May 31 at 12:00 p.m.
