Process

This second day of negotiations was all about making concrete proposals from the employer delegations to the unions and from the employer to respond to the unions' proposals. The positive thing is that we have now started to further explain each other's proposals and that there are some concrete points on the table. However, the proposals of the employers' delegation are De Unie still far apart.

The most important proposals from the employers' delegation

The employers' delegation has indicated that it wants to give a salary increase of 1% as of April 2024, 2, with a term of 1 year. They provide additional explanation that they have already indexed 2,65% last January. They also propose abolishing the DI budget, with a value of 1%. According to the employers' delegation, the dairy sector is under pressure due to various factors, which could lead to job losses within a number of companies.

The employers' delegation would like to continue the current agreements regarding labor market allowance and the option to work 40 hours in the day shift.

In addition to the above proposals, the employers' delegation has indicated that it wishes to discuss a number of matters in the working group. From the proposals of De Unie it specifically concerns working on the theme of 4 x 9.

De Unie

Although the employers' delegation refers to the indexation of 2,65% in January and the DI budget, we should not lose sight of the fact that these agreements were made for the current collective labor agreement. The employer delegation's argument about the pressure on the dairy sector and possible job losses within some companies is certainly relevant. However, it is also important to keep the sector interesting for current employees and future employees. For De Unie In addition to the wage question, it is also important to investigate the possible imbalance between employees in the basic collective labor agreement and the higher-paid collective labor agreement. Unfortunately, the employers' delegation does not respond positively to this.”

Help us!

Within the dairy industry there are two collective labor agreements, the basic collective labor agreement and the higher personnel collective labor agreement. In addition to the two different collective labor agreements, some companies (such as Friesland Campina) also have a special arrangement for senior staff, a company regulation. The members have received an invitation to indicate which collective labor agreement or company regulations they fall under. fall. This helps us to see how the distribution is and which regulations apply so that we can better represent our members within the dairy industry.

The next meeting

On Wednesday, April 17, we will continue discussions with each other, we will then continue with the contents and ultimately arrive at a new collective labor agreement for dairy.
