Currently, 20% of STG's staff are affiliated with De Unie. So that representativeness is fine (even though it would be nice if everyone at STG was a member). De Unie used to be).

As far as we are concerned, this representativeness is not a question mark. Usually it is the employer who questions it.

In March we sent the members a message about the visit to Scandinavian Tobacco Group. We then had a conversation with Elke Sommer (People Relation Manager).

The last communication - at the end of 2021 - was mainly about the pension scheme.

By 2022, the aim was to merge all legal entities into one entity. We were not involved in that further.

In the meantime, the intention was to move from the old Agio – Scandinavian Tobacco Group situation with two employment conditions packages to one employment conditions package for all employees in the Netherlands.

We would have liked to be involved in this, but the employer preferred to settle this with the works council.

It now appears that there is ultimately one employment conditions regulation. The Works Council, equipped with expert advisors, has worked hard and carefully on this.

The question remains how will the current population transfer to the new AVR and the employment conditions package for new employees.

The Legal Affairs department is currently in charge De Unie considers the draft employment contract. It refers to the AVR, so we would also like to examine that.

Social plan

In the past, a social plan was in force that included agreements to absorb the social consequences of a possible reorganization as much as possible. Executives have indicated that it would be good to still be able to fall back on a social plan. De Unie remains available to consult with STG on demand. The works council is considering their role in this.

If you have any questions about the negotiations or would like to give your opinion, please contact the representative John Kapteijn by e-mail john.kapteijn@unie.nl or call 06-5252 2067.
