Development

Manon van der Lely (HR) explained the 'focus on talent' development policy at asr. This implies:

  • An inclusive way to develop employees: everyone has equal opportunities and everyone has talent.
  • An effective and cost-conscious implementation by making as much use as possible of the available training modules and instruments.
  • No development programs for specific target groups, but customization based on profiles and development geared to personal development path.
  • An integrated approach to increase effectiveness; clear and compact.
  • Distinction in 8 profiles; asr employees, managers, high potentials (fast track), customer service, IT&C, finance professionals, temporary workers and supernumeraries.
  • The focus is on 'the skills of the future' and the development of those competences.
  • Part of the vision and approach is a reassessment of leadership and culture.

The policy is not only good on paper, but the asr employees present also agreed. Aegon and asr have comparable schemes and good development policies with many opportunities and possibilities. Employers have proposed to us to switch to asr's development policy as of 1 October 2023. Existing agreements with Aegon employees are respected, both commitments in the field of training and repayment obligations.

Working conditions related to mobility

asr's basic principle is that employees should be able to travel fully sustainably, flexibly and 100% reimbursed. Employers have given the similarities, differences and proposals on the following employment conditions regarding mobility:

  • Travel allowance for commuting
  • public transport card
  • Business travel allowance
  • Lease car
  • Company bike
  • Mobile phone
  • Homework allowance
  • Relocation arrangement

We were able to quickly agree on most points and disagree on a few which will be discussed further next time. The fourth meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 14, 2023, with the topics of pension, location policy and social plan on the agenda. So to be continued soon!
