Periodic consultations were held at Aegon in March. In these consultations, trade unions, HR and the Central Works Council discuss current affairs at Aegon and we work on the implementation of collective labor agreements. Below is a brief report of what was discussed.
Collective labor agreements
The last two collective labor agreements to be implemented, namely the investigation into a glass ceiling at Aegon and the implementation of the work code, were discussed. Data analyst Welmoed Kuperus has investigated the existence of a glass ceiling at Aegon. Unfortunately, I can't share anything with you about the results of the research yet. Aegon and the trade unions will first agree on how, where and when the results of the research will be communicated. So just a little more patience.
The other point still to be worked out concerned the four agreements on the application of the work code at Aegon. Three of these have already been completed. The last point, namely informing the self-employed at Aegon about their pension and the risks of incapacity for work, is discussed by HR in the 2e quarter of 2022. Just before the expiry of the collective labor agreement on 1 July 2022.
smart working
Mariska de Kruif from HR updated us on Smart Working at Aegon.
- What does Smart Working mean?
- who is working on this project?
- what are the lessons learned in the meantime?
- what has been achieved in the meantime?
- what are the next steps and challenges?
Aegon will soon be communicating more internally about Smart Working. The desired renovation of Aegon's locations in The Hague and Groningen was also discussed.
Employee sessions collective labor agreement
During the employee meetings on 14, 15 and 17 March, we will present the highlights from the 2022 collective labor agreement survey and we will discuss the collective labor agreement and the social plan with several dozen employees. On Monday 14 March we will also have a conversation with Young Aegon about the collective labor agreement process and what the trade unions are doing in it.
