In this newsletter I, advocate Emanuel Geurts, would like to inform you about a few current issues in the sector.

Negotiations

You are through the latest newsletter informed. Anyway, a few comments about the negotiations. The atmosphere is better compared to the negotiations for the 2021 collective labor agreement. Under the leadership of an external chairman, people listen to each other more and ask questions, which improves the mutual relationships. What is disturbing is the lack of a wage offer on the employer's side, but that will change on Tuesday 16 November. After the 16e we still have Wednesday 1 December and Wednesday 15 December. We'll see if we can make it with that. Just wait and see.

Social planning

There is something going on at different corporations. One concerns a reorganization and the other an intention to merge or split. Trade unions are then a discussion partner when it comes to employment conditions and the social plan. Below the trajectories at corporations I work on behalf of De Unie am involved in:

  • At Staedion, the last social plan was renewed without negotiation after the approval of the members of the three trade unions.
  • At Vestia, discussions are underway about a new social plan for the upcoming split of Vestia into three new corporations as of 1-1-2023.
  • At Haag Wonen we are in the final phase of talks about a new SP for an intended organizational development process.
  • Mitros wants to merge with Viveste (Houten/Wijk bij Duurstede) as of 1-1-2023 and wants to discuss this with us.

Retirement

In 2021, the social partners (employees and employers' organisations) will have to choose the type of pension contract that will apply to the new pension scheme of the SPW pension fund for housing corporations. For the trade unions this is the New Pension Contract (NPC / solidaire contract). Aedes also has the NPC as a tentative pick. More information about the transition to the new pension system can be found at https://www.spw.nl/over-spw/nieuw-pensioenstelsel/.

Handbook

Wednesday November 3, 2021 there will be a consultation between Aedes and the trade unions about the state of affairs 'modernization Handbook'. This consultation stems from the collective labor agreement agreement to remove the obstacles to the use of the job classification manual for residential services before the end of 2021 and to arrive at a revised manual. So to be continued.

Job market

The Housing Association Learning and Development Fund (FLOW) has published the 2021 labor market survey. This report can be read at https://flowweb.nl/nieuws/arbeidsmarktonderzoek-2021-inzicht-in-de-arbeidsmarkt-van-nu-en-straks. In addition, FLOW organizes five sessions throughout the country to discuss outcomes and gain new insights into learning and development, labor market shortages and sustainable employability of employees. Interested? You can sign up for one of the five sessions via https://flowweb.nl/nieuws/flow-benchmarksessie-arbeidsmarktonderzoek.

De Unie has an executive group in which current affairs in the sector and developments in the field of collective labor agreements and pensions are discussed. Then I would like to put you in touch with one of our current executives and you will be told what this means, how much time it takes and whether it is interesting for you.
