Rabobank: Report of the collective labor agreement March 22, 2022

March 25 2022

On March 22, 2022, we held a collective labor agreement with your employer. We used this day to improve the atmosphere of the negotiations, which had become very tense due to the great distance between the proposals. We now talk more about what binds us together. In addition, we took a closer look at a number of complex components of the pension scheme, such as waiver of premium in the event of disability, insurance of wage payment in the event of incapacity for work and survivor's pension.

Where do we go from here?

The consultation will resume on Monday, March 28, 2022 and Wednesday, March 30. We then talk about the collective salary increase. De Unie and Rabobank are still a long way from each other on this subject. We receive many e-mails from members who are following the negotiations tensely. There are many questions about the progress of the consultation and specifically about: individual salary increase, leave, home work allowance, travel allowance, 80/90/100 scheme and RVU.

We start on Monday with an explanation of the subject of working from home. The survey among members yielded the following results:

  • Request Daily Allowance: You are entitled to an average of €2,00 per day that you work from home. Is this enough to offset the costs you incur?

Answer:
86% of the respondents find this (severely) insufficient

  • Request Work from home facilities: Do you have good health and safety office furniture for your work at home?

Answer:

  • 63% yes
  •  8% don't know
  • 29% no

In particular, lack of lighting, second screen, good office chair, adjustable desk

  • Ask Health & Safety Check: Have you done a health and safety check? (screen at the right height, desk set at the right height, etc.)

Answer:
48% of the respondents indicate that they have not done a health and safety check

  • Request Internet reimbursement: An employer may reimburse internet costs up to a maximum of € 40,00 per month. Which situation applies to you?

Answer:

  • 33% have taken out a more expensive subscription or another provider
  • 37% expect an internet fee from Rabobank

In the comments many comments that IT equipment was purchased itself (docking station, WiFi amplifier, extra screen, cabling) and many complaints about high energy costs.

  • Question Impact on family: Should your family take this into account when you work from home?

Answer:

  • 39% no or not applicable
  • 61% yes

Working at weekends or in the evenings in particular appears to be taxing for the family.

De Unie sees in the survey results that it is necessary to make agreements about home working facilities. Members are also asking for an increase in the mileage allowance because petrol and diesel prices are extremely high.

Retirement

The second important part of the negotiations is the new pension scheme. The trade unions have developed a joint proposal that, in our opinion, complies with the agreements made in the pension agreement and in which we take Rabobank's interests into account. The parties to the collective labor agreement have given themselves the task of reaching agreement on the main features of the pension scheme by the end of the day on Monday.
