On Wednesday, May 5, 2021 De Unie, together with the other trade unions, again held collective bargaining consultations with NN. We have had a long talk. This conversation was mainly about the negotiation process. The parties have been talking to each other for a long time without us appearing to be making progress. In front of De Unie if this is not acceptable, the members expect us to make an effort to conclude a collective labor agreement. The process so far seems to be more focused on highlighting the differences in views. We have discussed the positions taken intensively, so that there is a better understanding on both sides of the background to these positions. It also became clear what we agree on.

What now?
The previously identified differences have not disappeared, but we want to make a new start by negotiating based on the similarities that we can find. The negotiations will not be easy, the employer sees major challenges due to the transformation process of the organization. But we have agreed that all parties will conduct collective bargaining without predetermined dogmas.
We will continue the consultation on 1 June 2021. The aim of the parties is to speak to each other in a meeting room. In recent months we have conducted the negotiations online and that distance does not help in the process.
