Context
In 2022 De Unie agreed to a new defined contribution scheme in the collective labor agreement negotiations at NN. Since October 2022, active pension accrual has been placed with BeFrank. This pension scheme largely meets the requirements of the Future Pensions Act (Wtp). This law has been in force since July 2023. The Wtp provides a transition period until December 31, 2027 to bring the pension schemes into compliance with the Wtp.
This obligation also applies to the current pension scheme in which pension is now actively being accrued.
Preparatory study
De Unie In recent months, a pension working group together with NN has investigated which parts of the current pension scheme do not yet comply with the Wtp. The conclusion is that the most important task is to adjust the survivor's pension. We must also discuss the principle of the Wtp that pension is purchased in the form of a variable benefit. This deviates from the current system of purchasing pension in the form of a fixed benefit.
Preparing pension negotiations
The pension working group has completed its work and is providing advice to collective labor agreement parties. The collective labor agreement parties will discuss this advice on May 16, 2024. After the negotiations
When De Unie and NN reach an agreement on adjusting the pension scheme, we will ask members with a Complete or extra membership for a decision. For the time being, we assume that the changes will apply from January 1, 2025.
