Signify: state of affairs in mediation and collective labor agreement process

February 13 2024

At the end of 2023, it was not possible to reach a new collective labor agreement for Signify. For this reason, the employer and the unions have agreed to work on mutual trust through mediation. This trust and understanding each other's 'language' are necessary to achieve constructive collective labor agreement consultations. After these discussions, the employer and the unions will decide whether they can resume collective labor agreement negotiations.

A collective labor agreement is necessary, also for confidence in the future!

Both the employer and the trade unions attach great value and importance to the collective labor agreement. After all, the collective labor agreement offers the opportunity to properly align interests. Collective labor agreements offer appreciation and perspective for employees, but are also the basis for the further and healthy development of the company.

Investing in employees, investing in the future of Signify!

The discussions between the employer and the unions concern, among other things, mutual trust and understanding each other's interests and room for maneuver. Communication and the manner in which negotiations proceed are also discussed. The unions and the employer are also exploring the complex situation at Signify, which makes negotiating a collective labor agreement extra complicated. On the one hand, there is a tight labor market and high inflation, but on the other hand, Signify is - as is known - in a difficult period.

We hope for a positive but realistic outcome

The talks are expected to be completed by mid-March 2024. At that time, the employer and the unions will determine whether there is sufficient common ground to resume collective labor agreement negotiations. Members will be informed about this as soon as possible.

Ultimately, the opinion of the members will be decisive!

Also colleagues who are not yet members De Unie can help decide when they become members De Unie. For that reason, let them read this newsletter too! You can become a member by this registration form .
Ultimately, at the end of the process, the members will determine how we should act if the employer does not take new steps to agree on a decent collective labor agreement at Signify.
