ONVZ: Social plan negotiations

On February 29, 2024, a second consultation took place between the management and HR of ONVZ, union officials and the ONVZ works council (OR) about a new social plan. ONVZ has made proposals to us to adjust the social plan. The first is to expand the sustainable employability budget to a free choice sustainable employability budget, which can be used as desired for, for example, training, advice about (setting up) your own business or additional coaching.

The second proposal concerns the amount / scale of the termination compensation from four to three age categories and with a reduction of all factors. See the differences below:

  • Factor 30 is eliminated for up to 1,1 years
  • From 30 years to 40 years factor 1,25 to up to 40 years factor 1,1
  • From 40 years to 50 years factor 1,65 to factor 1,4
  • From 50 years and older factor 2,35 to factor 1,45

The third proposal concerns capping. This ensures that the termination compensation never exceeds the expected loss of income until the retirement date and is capped at € 175.000 gross. ONVZ wants to reduce the maximum to €94.000 gross.

ONVZ also proposes to make some textual changes to the redundancy pay scheme, definition of the monthly income, Early Retirement Scheme (RVU) and the interest subsidy for former Allianz employees.

The next round was scheduled for April 11, 2024, but has been moved to April 30, 2024 at the request of the employer. We will then discuss the employer's proposals again and the overviews received with the numbers of employees per age category and textual proposals. The fourth and provisionally final round will then be scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2024.
