Acquaintance

There was a first meeting for a new social plan on Monday, December 4, 2023. We started with an introduction to each other.

Reorganisations

ONVZ presented their strategic themes on healthcare, customers and employees. Their translation into HR themes in 2024 was also discussed and a look at three potential reorganizations was provided. The first reorganization will take place soon, namely in IT in the first quarter of 2024. The organization in Sales & Distribution will also be adapted to the new distribution strategy. Both movements are still covered by the current social plan that runs until July 1, 2024. This does not apply to matters that arise in Q3 and Q4 of 2024 from the more efficient organization of operationally oriented activities. It is currently unclear whether and, if so, what personal effects this will have. The new social plan must then have appropriate measures in place for this.

Adjustments to social plan

ONVZ would like to make a number of textual adjustments to the redundancy pay scheme, the monthly income, and the Early Retirement Scheme (RVU). In addition, ONVZ wants to prevent the loss of jobs as a result of organizational changes as much as possible. They propose investing heavily in sustainable employability and working preventively on growth and mobility within and outside ONVZ and not waiting for the (financial) safety net of the social plan.

ONVZ wants to make employees aware and adequately inform them about (social) developments with a potential effect on or change in the content of the work and therefore the importance of sustainable employability for their own or other position in order to get employees moving at an early stage.

ONVZ attaches importance to market-based employment conditions and therefore also to a market-based social plan compared to other health insurers. They want to offer the right incentives, i.e. make growth and mobility attractive and make it less attractive to wait for compensation/safety net.

ONVZ will further develop these principles into concrete proposals and will put them on the table at a coming meeting as a basis for a new social plan.

Continuation

New dates for conversations are not yet known and follow from a date picker that is still outstanding. This will in any case be in early 2024 and will require at least two or three rounds of discussions to arrive at a new social plan.

What do you think?

Do you have an opinion about the above principles of ONVZ and/or do you have any proposals or adjustments to the existing social plan? We are curious about your opinion. Let me know via emanuel.geurts@unie.nl and/or call me on 06-5252 2074.
