The current collective labor agreements in the Metal and Technology sector expire on March 31, 2024. We are busy preparing for negotiations for a new collective labor agreement in the sector. The date of the first negotiations is also already known. We will start the first round of negotiations on Thursday, February 15, 2024.
Input needed!
Of course, we cannot get started without input. That is why we would like to hear from the members what concerns them and what should be arranged in the new collective labor agreement. We have drawn up a draft proposal letter with a number of executives. This includes a number of topics that we also included in our previous proposal letter. We certainly still think these topics are important and would like to raise them again with employers.

Progress negotiations on new Pension System
In the meantime, we are conducting very intensive consultations with employers in the sector to make agreements about a new pension system in accordance with the new pension legislation (WTP). These consultations have been very constructive so far. The preference of De Unie is looking for a Solidarity system just like the other trade unions, because this offers more stability and security in the future compared to the other options. We are now busy developing a transition plan to ensure that the transition from the old to the new pension system runs as smoothly as possible. The new system must be introduced by 2028 at the latest. Before we make any final agreements, we will inform our members in more detail about this and present the achieved result to the members. Ultimately, members with a Complete membership have the final say!
