De Unie, in your interest

Your collective labor agreement and industry

Maersk: Start DigiC trajectory

March 24 2023

As are known De Unie and Maersk in talks about a new modern collective labor agreement. In order to arrive at this new collective labor agreement, the so-called DigiC process is being followed. DigiC is a contemporary way of arriving at a suitable and supported collective labor agreement. De Unie has been working with this model for several years, on more and more collective labor agreement tables. For more information see: www.digic.nl

Panel discussions
The panel discussions with employees form part of the DigiC methodology. The panel discussions will take place in the period April 17-26 via Teams. Do you also want to participate in a panel discussion? You will receive an invitation via your employer with which you can register directly with the research agency. You do not have to be a member of a union to participate.

Consultation
The next step in the DigiC process involves an online consultation among all employees. This takes place by means of a survey, conducted by independent research agency Innervoice-MWM2. The panel discussions are translated into a questionnaire that is sent to all Maersk employees. You will receive this questionnaire at the end of May/beginning of June.

Ordered before De Unie and Maersk, the output of this questionnaire will guide the discussions on a new collective agreement. We therefore invite you to complete this questionnaire.

The next steps
After the closing date of the questionnaire, the research agency will prepare a preliminary report. This is then discussed again in panel discussions with employees, after which the final report is drawn up. This report is then shared with everyone (employees, unions, works council and Maersk).

During the talks about the new collective labor agreement De Unie make agreements on the collective labor agreement with Maersk using the report as a starting point. As soon as a negotiation result has been reached on a new collective labor agreement, this result will be presented to all employees through a referendum, again by research agency InnerVoice. De Unie will only sign the new collective labor agreement if the majority of the referendum result is positive.
