Clearer rules

This agreement is included in the collective labor agreement of the current collective labor agreement and was made to improve the salary increase process. There was a survey among all employees with a high response rate. There was also a working group with broad representation that also included union executives.

In these conversations, meetings and the survey, the most important bottlenecks in the salary increase process were examined. The employees experience the rules and substantiation in the current salary increase process as not transparent. That is why we have agreed on clearer rules for the salary increase for 2023. Good to know for managers, employees and self-organizing teams with a view to the first possible salary increase as of April 1, 2024.

What will the rules for salary increases look like from 2024?

When considering a salary increase, the manager can choose from four categories. Each category concerns the observed growth in behavior and development:

  • If the employee has shown no or limited growth:
    0-2% increase
  • When the employee has shown the expected growth:
    2-4% increase
  • When the employee has shown growth well above expectations:
    4-6% increase
  • When the employee has shown exceptional growth:
    6-7% increase

As now, the rule is that a salary increase is only possible if there is still room within the salary scale. This end-of-scale rule will therefore not change. For end-of-scale employees, we will have to work hard again from the beginning of next year to achieve a fair collective labor agreement increase. We need a lot of members for that!

In addition, the process and substantiation of the salary increase are better described:

  • The manager and the employee go through the process for a salary increase based on the steps described in the Quick Reference Card. You can find these on the intranet.
  • The manager accurately substantiates the identified growth in behavior and development of the employee in the Together & Better form.

The intranet also contains the most frequently asked questions. We have agreed with the bank that we will continue to discuss this important subject.
