ABN AMRO collective labor agreement 2024 poll fees

December 19 2023
ABN AMRO

Negotiations for the new collective labor agreement will start at the end of January 2024. Part of our preparations is that we want to know from our members what needs to change in the current collective labor agreement. Inflation correction, end-of-scale problems and lagging behind other major banks are the most important topics.

Wage poll results

Last week we asked members to complete a poll about wages. Many employees have responded to this.

When asked what you think about your salary, half say they are dissatisfied or very dissatisfied. On the other hand, almost a third indicate that they are satisfied.

When asked how they think the salary compares to the market, two-thirds of respondents indicate that they suspect that their salary is lower or much lower. The number of colleagues who think their salary is above the market is negligible.

Our question about the desirability of a one-off payment is divisive. On the one hand, two-thirds think it is a good to very good idea, but the other group thinks it is not a good idea at all. You also come back to this a lot in the open field.

Inflation correction

Already in the poll on leave, it has often been stated openly that salary is the most important topic for the upcoming collective labor agreement negotiations. That is repeated in this poll. Yet many colleagues also ask why we have not included questions about inflation adjustment. The answer is that we deliberately did not do that. We basically believe that an employer who is more than profitable should compensate employees for inflation. It comes as no surprise that many people think so too.

End scalers

In the open field, it is strikingly often about the problem of end-of-scalers. Many find it frustrating that excellence is not rewarded/seen. The options for moving to the next scale also seem very limited. And this is especially felt when external workers/newcomers seem to be rated higher for the same work.

Poll fees

This time we ask you three questions about reimbursements. We will use the input again to determine our proposals for the new collective labor agreement. (The poll on compensation has now closed.)

Continuation

The results of the compensation poll will be known next week and we will send them to our members. We use the period around Christmas and New Year's Eve to prepare our draft proposal letter. Our members will receive them in week two.

Deployment webinar

Week three will feature our big stakes webinar. That is your last chance to think about our approach to collective labor agreement negotiations. On Tuesday, January 16 from 12:00 PM to 13:00 PM, we will offer all bank employees the opportunity to tell us again what is most important for the new collective labor agreement. Put the webinar directly in your calendar!
