CAO Banks: Preparation of negotiations

Two consultation dates have been set, on January 24 and January 26, 2022, the parties to the collective labor agreement will continue. We agreed on two days in quick succession because we really want to work it out.

Fortunately, many members responded to the report of the collective labor agreement consultation on 6 January 2022. This helps to determine the position of De Unie attuned to the expectations of the members in the collective labor agreement consultations.

Members opinion De Unie

It is clear that members find employers' wage proposals scanty. Almost all responses indicate that the salary increase should be better. The high inflation in particular makes this an important subject for negotiations. But the feeling of having been standing still financially for a long time also makes this part very important.

In addition, various suggestions are made to make the collective labor agreement more attractive.

Examples of these suggestions are:

  • “It is important to try to lay down the right to RVU in the collective labor agreement. There are a lot of older employees who are at the end of their rope.”
  • “It may be possible to improve the vitality scheme slightly, this also makes the collective labor agreement more attractive.”
  • “It helps if the regulations for working from home are made as concrete as possible. My employer does not do more than the bare minimum.”

Preparation of collective bargaining

Together with the other trade unions, we responded in writing to the employer's proposal of 6 January 2022. In this proposal, we discuss all the employers' points. We have limited ourselves to the main points, because we want to reach a negotiation agreement. We also had to choose to transfer some matters to the next collective labor agreement.

The main thrust of our response is:

  • Salary increase of 2,5% as of January 1, 2022 and 1% as of July 1, 2022.
  • In the case of time and location-conscious working, we want to lay down in the collective labor agreement that employees are entitled to a compensation of 2 euros per day at home and 40 euros per month for an internet allowance.
