Sweco: Collective Labor Agreement 2023

January 12 2023

In October 2022 we had several collection sessions that the employees wanted to change in the collective labor agreement for 2023. Since November 2022 we have been talking to Sweco to reach good agreements. We would be happy to include you and your colleagues in a members' meeting in the proposal as it is now on the table and we will then determine the next steps together with you.

We have scheduled two member meetings on January 23, 2023. The members have received an invitation to participate in the meeting. Colleagues who are not members are also very welcome to join. This is the time to express your opinion of the employer's current proposal.

Loon

The most important point this year is the wage increase. Inflation is very high. You indicated in the employee meetings that inflation (correction) is the most important topic.

What is now on the negotiating table?

Proposal employer

  • € 125 net once in December 2022.
  • €125 in January 2023.
  • Mileage allowance to fiscal maximum of 21 cents per kilometer in 2023, and 22 cents next year.
  • Bicycle scheme to be further discussed with Works Council.
  • Bereavement leave, as discussed by the parties, will be included in the collective labor agreement.
  • Time for time bank for the scales above 10.
  • Duration: 14 months until March 1, 2024.
  • Pay raises
    • €75 structurally with effect from March 1, 2023.
    • 1,85% effective July 1, 2023.
    • 2,0% as of October 1, 2023.
  • In total, this amounts to an average increase of 4,85% on an annual basis. That € 75 is different for everyone, but on average this amounts to 1,7%.

At the moment, a few collective labor agreements have already been negotiated with your competitors. We also want to discuss the content of these agreements with you during the meeting. FNV, CNV Professionals and De Unie believe that at least a similar collective labor agreement result should be agreed upon as with the competing colleagues in the engineering world.

Union proposal

Because we noticed that no improvement was possible on other areas of our commitment, such as improving birth and parental leave or the generation pact (older colleagues work shorter hours), only the wage section remains for trade unions.

That is why we have made the following proposal.

  • Term of 12 months
  • Pay raises
    • €150 structurally as of March 1, 2023
    • 3% as of July 1, 2023
    • 2% as of October 1, 2023
  • In total, this amounts to an average increase of 8,4%.

With this proposal we are slightly higher than what has been agreed with your competitors. We would like to know from you how you view Sweco's proposal and we also want to know from you whether and where we still have room to negotiate.

A (good) wage increase or collective labor agreement does not always come naturally. This is done in consultation between management, De Unie, FNV, CNV Vakmensen and the Works Council. You are the most important factor at the moment: if you come to the meeting, you send a clear signal to the management how important it is to you. So come to one of the planned meetings to give your voice and opinion.

Would you like to forward this newsletter to your colleagues so that they also come?

Follow-up process

Negotiation days are still scheduled with the employer on 25 and 31 January 2023. The course of these negotiation days depends on what we decide with you during the members' meeting.
