On December 27, 2021, I, representative Hans Korver, informed the members about the termination of the Sustainable Participation programme. I also indicated at the time that the social partners were developing an alternative: training vouchers. The training vouchers are now available!
Request your training voucher!
From now on you can request a voucher of a maximum of € 2.000 to voluntarily follow a training course. That is not a compulsory education that you need to do your job. Your employer has to pay for this training. It is intended to follow training to develop yourself. As a security guard, but it can also be in a completely different area.
The training must be given by a recognized training institution or recognized trainer. But it doesn't have to have anything to do with the work you're doing now. In theory, it could even be related to your hobby. As long as the training is a recognized training.
For security guards with a diploma at a maximum of MBO-4, there is no check on the training you want to follow. However, there are a number of conditions that you must meet. For example, you must have worked in Private Security for at least two years. You can find more information about applying for training vouchers here.
Do you have a higher maximum level of education, do you want to follow a higher vocational education or do you want to follow a multi-year course? In that case, you are not automatically entitled to the training voucher. In that case, your application will be assessed by the program committee.
Do you want to follow a course, but you are not sure which course? Then you can request a free study career advice.
Would you like to have professional guidance during your studies, for example because you find learning quite difficult, or because it has been a long time since you completed a course? You can request free study counseling for this.

De Unie Security is a strong supporter of training vouchers. We think it is important that you continue to develop yourself. This way you can make your current or future work more fun. And enables you to better keep up with the many developments that are currently taking place in society and in Private Security. Therefore, invest in yourself and request the training voucher!
Is your employer covered by the collective labor agreement for Security Domain?
The training vouchers are made possible by the Social Fund Private Security. The employers covered by the collective labor agreement for the Safety Domain are affiliated with another social fund. In principle, the training vouchers do not apply to employees of these employers.
However, some of these employers are also members of the NVB (Dutch Safety Industry) employers' association. If this employer's contribution has been paid to the Social Fund for Private Security, their employees can participate in the training vouchers.
Do you work for a company that falls under the collective labor agreement for Security Domain? Then ask your HR department whether you can use the training vouchers.
