On Thursday, March 21, 2024, we started negotiations for the new Metalektro collective labor agreement. We would like to inform everyone about the state of affairs following this first round of negotiations.
First day of negotiations
During the first day of negotiations, employee representatives and employer delegations presented their proposal letters orally. The proposals of De Unie, can you here read again. We have not yet addressed the content of the proposal letters, but some clarifying questions have been asked.
Employer commitment
You can follow the proposals of the employers' delegation here read. The first reaction of the negotiators of De Unie concerns the following proposal from employers; We would like to add to 3.2.1 that the employer can change the limit amount if the majority of the employees concerned agree to the request.
The proposal aims to offer employers the opportunity to adjust the limit amount at company level. This proposal is at odds with our proposals to integrate the HP collective labor agreement into the basic collective labor agreement, which could cause even more differences within companies.
Retirement
In the afternoon, the negotiators were updated by the pension committee. As indicated in previous communications, discussions about the new pension scheme are proving difficult.
But there is one breakthrough came into these conversations. The negotiators have agreed in broad terms what the new pension scheme should look like. What is important for the breakthrough is that pension is gradually built up on part of the shift allowance.
The pension committee will now continue to discuss the effects of the agreements for the new scheme. From there, the transition plan can be drawn up and adjusted if necessary.
There is still not agreement on the new pension scheme (transition plan), but important steps have been taken to arrive at a transition plan.
Second day of negotiations
Next Tuesday, March 26, we will continue discussions with each other and discuss the content of the proposals and the employer will respond to the proposals.
