As we tell you our letter of April 9, 2024 have informed, negotiations for a new collective labor agreement for the Metal and Technology sector have stalled. This is because employers are not willing to offer more than what they offer the last day of negotiations have suggested. This offer is absolutely insufficient to agree on a decent collective labor agreement. We have repeatedly urged employers to make a better offer for a wage increase that does justice to the restoration and improvement of purchasing power for employees in the sector. Unfortunately, employers do not want to negotiate further to achieve a better wage increase and other employment conditions.
How further?
For this reason we have informed employers that this is not acceptable to us. That is why we want to issue an ultimatum as soon as possible and, if this is not complied with, take action. This week we discussed this extensively with our LBM (National Metal Business Group) and decided to issue an ultimatum to employers, in line with the other trade unions.
Show solidarity and become a full member!
If you are not yet a member or are a light member, you cannot yet vote. We really need your voice and support now. If you want to show solidarity with your other colleagues and support them, you can do so now! You can do that by becoming a full member now De Unie and then agree to issue an ultimatum and take actions after the ultimatum ends.
In both cases you will immediately receive a link to vote in the confirmation email of your complete membership.
Ultimatum
In order to issue an ultimatum and carry out the follow-up actions, it is necessary that at least 25% of the members working in the Metal and Technology sector cast their vote. And then 75% of those voters vote in favor of actions. That is why we desperately need your vote. We are holding this member consultation in order to be able to take the necessary actions. We also need your support and vote for a successful follow-up to agree on a good collective labor agreement for you!
Vote!
Please don't think: "oh well, my fellow Union member will vote" or "it will be fine" or "I don't want to take any action on my collective labor agreement at all". With your voice about this With the ultimatum, you grant us the opportunity to work hard on an attractive collective labor agreement together with you, colleagues and all trade unions involved. With one voice about this you don't say that you are going to take action or strike. That will only be discussed later. And then there are many options, in addition to striking, to support the call for a good collective labor agreement. You grant yourself and your colleagues with a voice about this at least the space to go on strike if they want to.
That is why we urge you to become a full member of De Unie . Do that today, then you can cast your vote immediately!
