Final offer for collective labor agreement banks: cast your vote

In October we sent a newsletter about collective labor agreements for banks for 2021. We then told employers that there was little scope for responding to collective labor agreement proposals from the trade unions. We then postponed the collective labor agreement consultation until January. The situation now was no different than in October. Employers have now made a final offer.

Negotiations

In January we started talking to employers again. They indicated that the situation had not improved. That meant there was still little room to engage in conversation. Employers wanted to make a proposal for a wage increase, but this could cause problems for a number of employers. The collective labor agreement already offers the possibility for employers to apply for dispensation, that is to say; that they can submit a request to the collective labor agreement parties (i.e. employer and trade unions) not to implement a collective labor agreement increase or to implement it later. There are employers who may want to take advantage of this.

Working groups

We as trade unions have tried to add a few more topics. We would like to make agreements about working from home and about additional birth leave. But none of this was possible. Working from home is part of the working group we will be working with this year; Work Differently. In addition, there is another working group that will examine whether anything needs to be adjusted in the collective labor agreement on the subject of pensions in connection with the National Pension Agreement.

Structural salary increase

Ultimately, there was a final offer from the employers. In 2021, a wage increase of 1,4% with effect from 1 July 2021. The term is 1 year and runs from 1-1-2021 to 31-12-2021.

This means that at the end of this year we will again enter into consultations about the collective labor agreement for 2022. In this year we can see where we can reach the working groups. It is unsatisfactory that we did not come to our own proposals. Employers have indicated that there is no more room.

Cast your vote

We present this final offer to you in a neutral way. We are happy that there is at least a pay rise for this year. The position of the financial sector also plays a role in this. We have looked for space to make an appointment on more topics. There was no space. That is why only this agreement about the wage increase is the highest possible.
