ING collective agreement negotiations in final phase
The negotiations for the new ING CLA are entering a final phase. A proposal has been made on behalf of the ING management, which the delegation believes is the last thing they can do. ING has told us in clear terms that there is nothing more to be gained from further negotiations. De Unie now has to answer the question of how to proceed. Do we talk within the framework indicated by the ING management or do we draw the conclusion that the ING CLA cannot be achieved without some turmoil.
Letter of proposals from De Unie
First, let’s recall what De Unie proposed.
- One-year CLA with the option for a two-year CLA
- Purchasing power adjustment of 11% as of January 1, 2025
- Structural salary increase of 5% as of July 1, 2025
- We offered the option to pay part of the purchasing power repair in the form of a percentage profit-sharing scheme.
- And because the in scale remuneration (the April increase) at ING, compared to other financial companies, is extremely low, we proposed to improve it significantly. At ING it takes you more than 20 years to grow from scale minimum to scale maximum.
Latest employer proposal
By mutual agreement with ING management, the most feasible is as follows:
- A two-year CLA duration
- No purchasing power adjustment
- Structural salary increase of 5.25% per 1 July 2025
Structural salary increase of 3.25% per 1 July 2026
One-time payment of €1,500.00 gross on January 1, 2025
- No profit-sharing scheme
- In scale remuneration is converted to Pay for Growth with an average of 2%. It will take you almost as long to grow to the scale maximum.
Agreements can also be made on a number of smaller topics. We will be happy to explain these in a subsequent post.
Conclusion
The gap between what De Unie has proposed and what ING management wants to offer remains large. We have made it clear down here. It makes no sense to try to make further small steps with negotiations. De Unie therefore wants to discuss with the members how to proceed.
