Opinions of our members
Collectieve salary increase
Members’ opinions vary. Some stress they are happy that the ING management has come up with a nuanced substantive proposal. Others find the employer’s proposal severely insufficient because there is still a large gap in purchasing power.
Remarkably often we see in the responses that it is still far too early to make an agreement on 2026.
Pay for Growth
This proposal is met with negative response. There is little confidence that at ING it is possible to carry out performance evaluation in an objective, transparent way. A small group wants to make this proposal more concrete because it could potentially lead to higher inschale salary increases.
Public transport allowance
Free weekend travel is welcomed. We do get a large number of elaboration questions added.
Study debt compensation
There is mixed reaction to this. There is no objection to a so-called onboarding bonus. But there are questions as to whether the form chosen by employer is optimal. Several members ask why an instrument of the Recruitment and Selection Department should be paid from the budget earmarked for the CLA.
80/90/100-scheme
The target group of this scheme generally responds positively, although questions are raised because in practice many employees already work four days (4×9 scheme).
Others ask whether ING would not be better off investing in a sabbatical scheme that could benefit all age groups.
What are the members missing from the employers’ proposal?
Profit-sharing scheme
A profit-sharing scheme is mentioned most often under this heading. Many members think it is really important for employees to be treated more equally with shareholders.
The profit-sharing scheme has been mentioned in De Unie’s proposal letter. De Unie will present a detailed proposal for profit-sharing in the consultation on October, 7th. We see that many employees consider this a really important issue and therefore make the point of greater importance in the negotiations.
Other topics mentioned:
- Remote working
- Home working allowance
- Job retention
- Green working conditions
