Good news! Both De Unie and our partner trade unions have agreed to the final offer for the new collective agreement for the Textile Wholesale sector. The members of our partner trade unions have also given their approval. This means the collective agreement is now final and the new terms will come into force for the period from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028. Thanks to the commitment of our members, we now have a collective agreement that brings tangible improvements for workers in the sector.

The main results
For staff covered by the collective agreement pay scale, salaries will increase by a total of 6%:
- 3% as at 1 August 2026;
- 3% as at 1 August 2027.
For staff whose salary exceeds the collective agreement pay scale and whose gross annual income is up to € 65,000, the total pay rise amounts to 4.5%:
- 2.5% as at 1 August 2026;
- 2% as at 1 August 2027.
With these wage agreements, purchasing power will be supported, and working conditions will remain attractive.
Equal treatment for overtime
An important improvement is that overtime is from now on defined as work beyond the agreed working hours. This means that part-time and full-time workers are treated equally when it comes to overtime. That is a fair and future-proof agreement.
Better compensation for interns
It has also been agreed that the internship allowance for MBO, HBO and WO interns on full-time placements will be increased from € 300 to € 400 gross per month. In this way, the social partners are investing in making the sector attractive to new talent.
Working together for the future
Another important agreement is that employers and trade unions will set up a joint working group during the term of the collective labour agreement, which will focus on themes such as workload, the generational pact, and bereavement leave. This way, we will continue to work together on a healthy, sustainable, and people-oriented sector.

This collective agreement has been achieved thanks to the commitment of our members. The votes cast by De Unie members and the trust they have placed in us give us a strong position at the negotiating table. We are grateful to our members for this. Together, we have taken another step towards better working conditions for everyone in the textile wholesale sector.
Goodbye
After 10 years, it is time for representative Gerard van der Lit to hand over the reins. His De Unie colleague Tommy Piccirillo will take over from him after the summer holidays and represent the members’ interests. Gerard van der Lit is fully confident that Tommy Piccirillo will carry out this role with at least the same level of commitment. Tommy will be getting to work for the members in the aforementioned working groups and will be introducing himself shortly.
