We have asked Philips to withdraw their final offer and to re-enter negotiations with us to achieve a better outcome for a new collective labour agreement. With this, we have made it clear to Philips that we want a substantially higher wage increase than was stated in their final offer.
Join now, this is possible from €0.
On Friday 24 March, Philips formally informed us that the final offer has been withdrawn and that they wish to continue negotiations with us. We are certainly pleased with this step from Philips and we are prepared to return to the negotiating table.
Introductory meeting with the CEO of Philips
We already had an introductory meeting scheduled with the new CEO of Philips, Roy Jakobs, on 31 March. Following this, we will restart negotiations with Philips for a new collective labour agreement. On that day, we do not expect to make any concrete substantive agreements, but we do expect to establish a new follow-up process to agree on a new collective labour agreement.
Remarkable explanation from Philips
We have since learnt that Philips has issued an internal memo (“an average of 7% in 2023”) explaining the content of the final offer as they see it. Without going into further detail about their perspective, we can tell you that we do not recognise ourselves in it. You will no doubt agree with this once you compare our explanation of the content of the final offer with that of Philips.
The signal from the members came across well!
The clear signal from the outcome of the member consultation has helped us make Philips realise that the final offer was unacceptable and that you must achieve a better result for the employees.
Follow-up process
We will continue to keep members informed of further developments. Please make sure your colleagues who are not yet members of De Unie read this message too. That way, they can also see that membership of the De Unie trade union plays a major role in securing a better collective agreement at Philips.
