NN Group: Collective Labour Agreement Consultation Report 5 January 2021

8 January 2021

On 5 January 2020, the collective labour agreement (CLA) negotiations for NN employees resumed. In addition to the major themes: maintaining purchasing power, social plan, and pension, there are themes that are being dealt with separately by a working group. The progress of the various working groups was discussed extensively at the CLA table. Furthermore, trade unions jointly responded to the employer's proposal from December 2020.

Cao negotiation

Items on the agenda include, for example, sustainable employability and the structural pay rise. Discussions on these matters are proving difficult to get off the ground. In order to get the negotiations moving, De Unie and the other trade unions have jointly examined which proposals from our letters we can combine and which we should prioritise together. Our aim is to use this to get the collective agreement negotiations moving.

De Unie naturally keeps a close eye on developments at other companies in the sector as well. A positive outcome has been achieved under the Insurance Companies’ sectoral collective agreement (which applies to small and medium-sized insurers). Employees at these companies will receive a structural pay rise totalling 2.25% under a one-year collective agreement. In addition, they also enjoy other attractive terms of employment, such as an early retirement scheme and two months’ partially paid ‘vitality leave’ (every seven years).

Working groups

The TPOW working group is a working group in which trade unions, employers and the central works council are all represented. The working group must formulate a proposal for the collective labour agreement negotiations for, among other things, a new travel expenses scheme and a home working allowance. I would like information from you to help me determine my position in this working group. You can offer your opinion here give.

The Working Group on the Labour Code is exploring ways to treat permanent and flexible employees more equally.

A working group will be set up to examine the options regarding pensions. Pensions are an important part of the collective agreement; we will begin with an information session on the new pension contracts. The current pension scheme, under which pension entitlements are accrued in the CDC pension fund, expires on 31 December 2021. When considering the new pension scheme, we must take into account the implementation of the pension agreement. This agreement is currently being transposed into legislation, which is likely to be finalised in 2023. In addition to the negotiations for a new pension scheme, De Unie also wishes to draw attention to the current pension cuts. However, it will be difficult to reach agreements before the end of 2021.
