We recently presented the outcome of the negotiations for a new collective agreement for the Metal and Engineering sector, together with a positive recommendation, to the members of De Unie in the sector. Our members had until 20 February 2026 to cast their votes. The vote has now closed. Many members cast their votes – thank you for that!

Members agree!
We are pleased to inform you that the vast majority of members who voted have voted in favour of the negotiated outcome. The comments made show that our members are particularly pleased with the new agreement on additional holiday hours for older employees. Finally, this arrangement will be applied as our members wished. The accrual of additional holiday hours will remain in effect until the state pension age.
Our members are also satisfied with the term of the new two-year collective labour agreement, as this contributes to peace and stability within the sector.
Critical remarks
Naturally, there were also critical remarks, particularly concerning the wage increase. Our members would have preferred a full percentage increase. The way the wage increases are now being applied (a combination of a percentage increase and a nominal amount) will have a levelling effect.
What next?
Following the votes by the other trade unions and employers, there will be a definitive agreement on the new collective labour agreement for Metal and Technology. This is expected to take place around the second week of March. When this happens, members will be informed.
