In the run-up to the collective bargaining negotiations on 9 December, De Unie has asked its members to sign a petition.

English version

Petition result

Over 1,500 staff members have signed the petition. Given the short time the petition was open, this is a great result. We are delighted with this show of support. The signatures were provided by members of De Unie, as well as by staff who are members of other trade unions or who are not unionised. The vast majority of them stated:

  • The pay rise in 2025 is too small and too late (87%)
  • The pay rise in 2026 is too small and comes too late (92%)
  • ‘Pay for Growth’ is an undesirable employment condition (74%)

The group of employees who will fall under Variable Remuneration are rejecting these employment conditions in large numbers.

How did the negotiations on Monday 9 December 2024 go

The collective agreement negotiations were a repeat of previous rounds of talks. ING’s management has a limited budget. Funds are being reallocated within the budget, but there is very little, if any, scope for improvement. A petition, however well-supported it may be, is not enough to bring about change in this regard. This ultimately led to a collective agreement being reached, which De Unie will present to its members in a neutral manner. .

What next?

De Unie will present the outcome of the negotiations in a neutral manner to members with a ‘Compleet’ or ‘Extra’ membership. Voting will be open from Wednesday 11 December until Monday 6 January 2025. It has been agreed that the details of the negotiation outcome will not be disclosed before 12.00 on Wednesday 11 December. Members will receive information about the outcome of the negotiations on 11 December.

Pension

The vote on the pension transition plan has now concluded. A majority of members have approved the new pension scheme for the ING CDC pension fund and the transition to a Wtp scheme for Pension Fund ING.

This also applies to the other parties involved. The next step in this process is for both pension funds to go through their formal decision-making procedures.

We keep our members informed of important developments.
