Collective bargaining negotiations are about to begin again. First, Esther van Berkel would like to introduce herself. From now on, she will be representing your interests on behalf of De Unie in relation to the General Banks.

During the upcoming collective labour agreement negotiations, she will be working alongside the current representative, Emanuel Geurts. After that, Emanuel will step down from the negotiations and she will become your permanent representative and point of contact.
Who is Esther van Berkel?
Before joining De Unie last year, she worked in the financial sector for over 21 years. She understands the financial world, its dynamics and the challenges that staff face on a daily basis.
What does Esther stand for?
For me, a good collective labour agreement is about much more than just salary. It's also about job satisfaction, development opportunities, a healthy work-life balance, appreciation, and the scope to do your job well. But above all, it's important that employees feel heard.
Let's introduce ourselves, as I'd like to know who I'm sitting at the table with.
From 28 September, she will be representing you at the negotiating table. This means she will be defending decisions and positions that affect your work and your future. That is why she wants to know not only what matters to you, but also, and above all, who the De Unie members are at the General Banks.
What is happening in your daily work? What challenges are you facing? What are you proud of? Which employment conditions must we absolutely retain, and which need improvement?
She's inviting you to send her an email. Let her know what's important to you or just send a message to introduce yourself. Let's have a coffee or tea together, either digitally or in person. Because the better she knows you, the better she can represent your interests during negotiations.
Building a strong collective agreement together
A strong collective agreement starts with engaged members. The more input we receive, the stronger our position at the negotiating table. Your experiences, ideas and feedback really do make a difference.
