In this notice, we would like to inform you about the regular consultation between De Unie, the other trade unions and the NVB’s employers’ delegation (WVB) on Monday 15 December 2025. The regular consultation will cover developments in the sector and progress on the collective agreement (study) agreements that have been made.

Artificial intelligence
Employers have had two meetings about AI, one of which was with TNO. The first was about what AI is and the second about the impact of AI on HR and work. During the periodic meeting, we jointly discussed the session with employers/Works Councils/trade organisations on 2 March 2026. The aim is to produce an AI guideline as a product for the sector after that session, which management and co-determination bodies can use in their organisations. The structure of the planned meeting is now being further developed.
Equal pay
The implementation of the European Pay Transparency Directive in the Netherlands has been postponed to 1 January 2027. Employers have investigated whether they could conduct further research using CBS data. It turned out that there were too few usable data points available for meaningful follow-up. Employers are attending AWVN information sessions on the equal pay directive, but many questions still cannot be answered. This should become clearer in 2026.
Information Requests
After several reminders, more employers are providing the requested information on the fixed/flexible employment ratio, insight into the number of primary employment benefits, the use of social leave, workload, well-being, and welfare. There are still employers who have not yet shared their information. A report will follow in a next periodic meeting.
Bank revenue models
During the last periodic meeting, the WVB discussed the business model of banks. The NVB has a nice new brochure about this on their website; see DNB updates book ‘Insight into Banks’.
Monday 2 March 2026 is the next periodic meeting and thereafter the members will receive feedback on it again.
