Health insurers: Members agree to new collective labor agreement

The majority of members are positive
The majority of the members of De Unie has responded positively to the agreements for the new collective labor agreement. The results for the other trade unions are comparable. I, advocate Inge de Vries, have informed the employers that the collective labor agreement has been formally accepted by the members. The salary increase for 2019 will most likely be implemented this month. If this is no longer possible, you are entitled to a supplementary payment.
I would like to thank everyone who voted. And I also want to thank everyone who has helped with questions and directions to achieve this great result.
Elaboration of agreements made
A number of agreements have been made in the collective labor agreement that still need to be worked out in the coming period:
- The sabbatical arrangement.
- Realizing a line of development towards functions in healthcare.
- Discussing and preparing the implementation in the health insurance CAO of the results of the Werkbeweging congress De Unie organizes together with the major insurance companies.
- Investigate whether employees are entitled to continued payment of the irregularity allowance during vacation (from the previous CLA).
I will de Unie- Notifying members of important appointments as usual.
We must also start a study of the pension scheme in good time. The current pension scheme runs until December 31, 2020. We will therefore have to make new agreements in the course of 2020. As regularly read in the newspapers, Dutch pension funds are struggling due to the long-term low interest rates and the stringent requirements of legislation and regulations. This also applies to SPA. If the interest does not rise, we may be forced to agree on a drastically different pension plan. On Tuesday, October 8, 2019 De Unie consulted the board of the pension fund SBZ. We discussed, among other things, the premium for 2020 and the consequences of the pension agreement for the fund. The agreements in the pension agreement will be worked out in 2020. Subsequently, new legislation must be worked out in 2021. In 2020, when we have to negotiate a new pension scheme, the new laws and regulations will not be ready. We will therefore not be able to agree on a long-term pension contract.
