Pension Act

The new Pension Act is currently being discussed by the 2e Room. It was recently announced that the implementation date has been moved from January 1, 2023 to July 1, 2023. Trade unions, employers and the government have created a website to provide information to employees and employers about pensions. You can find everything about the legislative process, pension contracts and questions & answers on https://www.werkenaanonspensioen.nl/.

Pension consultation

Trade unions, employers and the SBZ pension fund have a tripartite pension working group. In these consultations, we share information with each other and agree on the future transition to a solidary or flexible pension scheme. SBZ provides us with information about the different types of participants, makes (customer) calculations and develops scenarios. We also talk about compulsory entry, indexation and the latest developments in the field of pension legislation.

In addition, the trade unions and employers also consult together in order to ultimately arrive at a joint choice for a pension contract. For example, on 17 October we discussed the distinguishing criteria between the two different pension contracts. We are no different on most criteria. Employers only attach a little more value to freedom of choice and the trade unions attach a little more value to solidarity. Because the pension legislation is taking a little longer, the social partners are taking a little more time until the next consultation. We are now planning a next meeting sometime at the end of January 2023. Then we will review the state of pension legislation and the Parameters Committee has also 'laid its egg'.

High

The final offer of employers is known. If all goes well, your employer has also provided text and explanation for the choices made in the final offer. After all, employers had promised to do this. I also hear that this is being taken up by management and HR. There is also explicit attention for employees who are or are at risk of getting into financial difficulties. A good case!

The vote on the final offer is underway. Members can cast their vote until Monday 24 October 2022. Depending on the outcome of the vote, there may or may not be a new collective labor agreement. Since the current collective labor agreement has not been terminated, it will continue unchanged from 1 October 2022.
