De Unie, in your interest

Your collective labor agreement and industry

This is the employers' first wage offer!

07 September 2022

The current Collective Labor Agreement for Health Insurers runs until 1 October 2022. Social partners are in negotiations for a new Collective Labor Agreement for Healthcare Insurers. Employers have made their first wage offer of 2,7%. What do you think of a 2,7% pay increase? De Unie immediately asked for a new wage offer.

CLA negotiations

The fourth round was dominated by employers' wage offers. Up to that point, employers had not yet made a wage offer. This meant that expectations on our side were high. Employers understand that inflation is high but do not consider it their job to correct inflation. They offer you a 2,7% structural salary increase for a one-year collective labor agreement. Employers prefer a two-year collective labor agreement and indicate that the wage percentage will be lower than 2,7% in the second year. They rely on economic models in which inflation is expected to fall.

Trade unions have subsequently made it clear to employers that employers' bids are far from the commitment of trade unions and the ever-increasing inflation. We have therefore called on employers to reconsider their offer. If this does not lead to a substantially higher offer, we do not think it makes sense to continue the talks. At the time, employers indicated that our message had been received. They will consider a new offer. Since there is only one round of negotiations on the agenda, an additional meeting has been scheduled for Monday 12 September. We will see whether this will be sufficient, because all our substantive proposals are also still on the negotiating table.

Retirement

The new pension law is currently being discussed by the 2e Room. On the joint website of the government, employers and trade unions www.werkenaanonspensioen.nl you can read the progress on it as well as general information about pension. You can also read more information about pension and our support on the site of De Unie.

We are in talks with the employers and the SBZ pension fund about, among other things, the choice of the pension contract, the date of introduction and the transition problem. The funding ratio of the pension fund plays an important role in the structure of the pension contract and the compensation. You can find an explanation of what the funding ratio is on the site of pension fund SBZ. As it stands, we will not switch to a new pension contract before 1 January 2025. We also want the new law to be passed first to clearly know where we stand.
