Insurance companies: collective bargaining

October 28, 2021

Last Monday, October 25, the third round of negotiations between De Unie, the other trade unions and the employer's delegation of the insurers. With this newsletter I inform you about the progress of the negotiations for a new collective labor agreement as of 1 January 2022. I, representative Emanuel Geurts, explain some of the discussed topics in more detail below.

Retirement

The Collective Labor Agreement parties needed an explanation of the current Collective Labor Agreement article 5.3.1 on the IDC scale of premiums. Mr Den Hertog van Montae outlined its history and answered questions from the parties to the collective labor agreement. The conclusion is that the current pension agreement will remain as it is.

Term of the collective labor agreement

The current collective labor agreement has a term of one year and contains many agreements that have not yet all been implemented. We discussed the dilemma of the ambition to reach (many) agreements on the one hand, and their feasibility in combination with time on the other. The outcome of this dialogue was that we are now thinking of a longer term, for example two years, in order to be able to work out the collective bargaining agreements properly.

Discussion points

We have made an inventory of which topics we still want to discuss. Partly as a result of the efforts of trade unions, employers have indicated that they want to talk about a longer term, RVU, wages, pension incapacity for work, financing employment funds, 3e year of WW/PAWW, diversity, adjustment of dispensation scheme, month of the union and the continuation of the pension and salary structure working group. Trade unions have added TPOW, leave and work code to the discussion list.

TPOW

In preparation for the next discussion of TPOW, I would like to hear from you whether and how time and place-independent working is arranged at your organization. I would like to receive your response via emanuel.geurts@unie.nlno later than 11 November next. Thanks in advance!

Continuation

The fourth round of negotiations is Friday 12 November. After that, we have Thursday 25 November in the agenda all day and finally Tuesday 7 December.
