Outcome of the ABN AMRO collective labor agreement negotiations

Last week, the members of De Unie and the other trade unions rejected the bank's final offer. In particular, EU members have suggested that they want more appreciation from the top and a better wage offer from the bank. We have also informed the bank of this, along with the invitation to discuss this further. The bank has accepted that invitation.

Improvement wage offer

On Wednesday morning, January 31, 2018, together with colleagues from the other trade unions, I not only spoke with the permanent HR delegation of Frank van de Brink, Suzanne Schenk and Jules van der Perre, but also Gert-Jan Meppelink and Kees van Dijkhuizen. I have further explained the need for a better offer and more appreciation. There is understanding from the bank for both points. This has also led to a new outcome of the collective labor agreement negotiations. The bank has made a much improved wage proposal. As of 1 January 2018 there will be a structural wage increase of 2% and on 1 January 2019 also a structural increase of 2%. The € 1.000 per person in February 2018 will remain, as will the free Good Friday in 2018.

Vote requested

I consider this a serious helping hand from the bank to the employees who have asked for more appreciation and a better offer from the bank. I also consider this the maximum achievable outcome of the negotiations. That makes that De Unie again asks you to give your vote on this new total package. You have now been notified by e-mail to be able to vote.

Your Order

Read the bank's infographic here. Here you can see at a glance the total of changes for the new collective labor agreement. You can read the total package of the collective labor agreement negotiations here.

Member power

This new outcome would not have come about without the support of members and executives. I want to thank you very much for that. So you see again that you as a Union member have direct influence. We ask you to re-use this influence by voting. Let your colleagues know that you are part of the decision. If they become a member through you, they can also make themselves heard.
