De Uniemembers of Tata Steel Sociale Eenheid IJmuiden, who met in a meeting on 11 June 2020, have, in the current turbulent times, sent a strong signal to the European and Dutch management boards of Tata Steel. 90% of the members present voted for actions to reinforce the demands of the joint unions. However, as the number of members present did not reach the required statutory threshold (i.e. a quarter of the members), there is no reason to De Unie to get under De Unieflag actions at Tata Steel in IJmuiden.
Nevertheless, in order to respond to the feelings of the members, and to reinforce the content of our joint demands, we will show solidarity with the actions of our colleagues.vakbondand. To this end, we will compensate members who decide on an individual basis to participate in the promotions when Tata Steel actually cuts their salary.
