Strike call Metal and Technology

November 26 2021

Monday 29 November 24-hour strike Region Drenthe/Emmen/Assen.

Over the past two weeks, we have set up strike streets in six places in the Netherlands. Hundreds of colleagues have registered as campaigners for a good collective labor agreement. Still no response from your employer. Unfortunately, this means that there is no other option than to continue taking action. Support yourself and participate!

Just a reminder
We do all actions together with FNV and CNV. A list of strike locations has been agreed in consultation with an indication of the region that corresponds to it. We send these action calls to all employees who are registered in our membership file as working for a company that falls under the Collective Labor Agreement for Metal and Technology. Our membership file only contains your home address and company. That is why we do not know exactly in which region you work. We therefore ask you to make an assessment yourself whether you fall under the region for which a 24-hour strike is being declared. Of course you can and can participate in a promotion that is elsewhere. For the most impact, it is good to also check in your company whether colleagues from De Unie participate or that you see that FNV and CNV colleagues are organizing for the 24-hour strike.

24-hour strikes between November 28 and December 1, 2021
Today, November 26, 2021, there was a busy strike street in Nijmegen-Lent. One 24-hour strike is scheduled for the first half of next week.

Monday, November 29, 2021 there will be a 24-hour strike in the Drenthe/Emmen/Assen region. Colleagues working in and around this region can register between 8 and 9 am at one of the following two locations:
1. Parking next to ACV football club, Kortbossen 1 in Assen.
2. Parking next to Argos petrol station (Corner Emmalaan/Kerkhoflaan), Emmalaan 8 in Emmen

Further actions and regions are planned. Keep an eye on your mailbox for an update on the promotions in your region.

The members of De Unie have received a strike registration form and a solidarity statement which they can take with them to the strike drive-thru after completing it. We use this system to ensure that the strikes take place safely. The idea is that you stay in the car as much as possible and go home after registration. Due to the restrictive corona measures, no further meetings and manifestations will take place.

For questions email tometaal@unie.nl or call 06 5252 2034.

We hope to see you at one of the applicable locations.
