The change in working hours for financial advisors is the result of the request for approval in relation to the request for advice Excellent Customer Service Financial Advice. The consent request arranges opening on:
Weekdays from 08.00 – 21.00.
On Saturdays from 09.00:17.30 – XNUMX:XNUMX.

For financial advisors, this is an extension of the working hours in the morning, evening and at weekends. A major change.

In the request for approval, Rabobank promises the following:

“When implementing working according to this method (central timetable ed.) it is based on the employee's wishes with regard to available times. According to this method, the employee can also make changes to working hours that are better suited to their own situation. However, it is also possible that based on the forecast it appears that rosters need to be adjusted. This always takes place in dialogue with the employees and the team together.”

The ORR has agreed to the change subject to a number of conditions. De Unie has started the study into working hours in connection with the announced evaluation in January 2022. Two of the conditions of the ORR also leave room for adjustment.

Condition 2

Each year, the company determines the percentage of mortgage volume that is realized in the field of mortgages with customer conversations on Saturday. It is always considered and substantiated whether Saturday opening is still useful in relation to customer, company and employee interests. The ORR receives this analysis for the first time on 01-07-2022.

In the survey, several employees state that they are concerned that the central scheduling will schedule customers on Saturdays, so that the figures will soon show that Saturday opening is useful.

Condition 3

The company will evaluate the introduction of central scheduling before 01-03-2022. At least the impact on job satisfaction and absenteeism will be included in the evaluation.

With this survey, De Unie input for the evaluation being prepared.

How further

De Unie puts the result of the survey on the agenda of our regular consultations with Rabobank.

In this conversation I take into account the various concerns that came up in the survey.

  • The wishes of employees are not sufficiently taken into account in the scheduling. What is Rabobank going to do about this?
  • The Rabobank collective labor agreement does not contain any regulations for irregular working hours. If such a large group has to work irregularly and has insufficient control over their own working hours, De Unie no other option but to adjust the terms of employment accordingly.
  • Work-life balance is adversely affected for employees. Rabobank believes this is proportionate to the objectives they wish to achieve.
  • How will the evaluation measure whether the expansion of opening hours contributes to Excellent Customer Service?
  • The split into Financial Advisor Housing and Financial Advisor Wealth has the side effect that employees follow fewer WFT courses. This has a negative effect on their sustainable employability.
