Periodic consultation NN Group

De Unie regularly consults with NN Group about developments at the company. In this periodic consultation, we discuss the details of study agreements in the collective labor agreement, developments at the company and subjects that De Unie on the agenda on behalf of the members. Below you can read what was discussed during the periodic meeting of 5 February 2020.


The HR departments of NN Group were radically reorganized in the last quarter of 2019. The HR organization is now clearer and easier to manage. Normally, a lot of work is done in the period between collective bargaining. Agreements have been made in the collective labor agreement that must be elaborated. The developments in the company may require new initiatives. Due to the reorganization, less urgent work has been left out. All officials within the HR organization have now been appointed. Many employees have left or have changed positions. During the next periodic consultation, we want to make a start on the collective labor agreement agreements that still have to be implemented.

Requests for advice are also carried out at other departments. NN Group reports a large number of redundancies as a result of various requests for advice within the group. Are you redundant? The Balanced Labor Market Act (WAB) entered into force on 1 January 2020. The aim of this act is to make permanent work less permanent and flexible work more permanent. At NN Group, payrolling is prevented and employees with a flex contract are offered a contract with fixed hours after 1 year. The company states that it meets the legal requirements. More information about the WAB can be found here.

Next periodic consultation

The next periodic meeting will be on March 11, 2020. We will then discuss at least the following topics:

  • Staying vital at work for longer (one of the collective labor agreements).
  • Remuneration system. De Unie has asked NN Group to provide insight into the use of the bandwidth in the individual salary increase. We would like to know in what percentage of the cases there was deviation from the 2,5% salary increase and the motivation for the deviation.

Executive group

We are looking for reinforcement for our executive group. The executive group consists of motivated members who meet regularly to discuss developments at NN, the terms of employment and collective labor agreement formation. The executive group identifies matters that are at play at NN and discusses this with me. This information position is important during regular consultations between the company and the trade unions. On the other hand, I ask executives to gauge subjects among colleagues. If you are interested, or a colleague who might be interested, let us know. We are very happy to start a conversation. Executives must of course serve as members De Unie to be, but can also be!
