NXP Semiconductors: State of Play

July 07, 2022

Getting to know Jean Schreurs

As of September 7, 2020, I, John Kapteijn, last asked you about topics on which we could improve the collective labor agreement. Then Guido Dierick was about to leave. On Wednesday there was an interim consultation with NXP. On that occasion, country manager Jean Schreurs took us through the history of Next experience. The influence of Rick Clemmer and vision of Kurt Sievers. Finally, the current state of affairs was discussed and we considered the challenges for the future. The Koning Willem I Prize was passed by and also the winning of the Randstad Empoyer Brand Award – for the third time in a row.

Working at home Policy / Hybrid working

The homework policy was discussed, the homework agreement and RAV 704. Please share your experiences (positive or negative) with me so that I can pass this on to NXP at subsequent evaluation moments.

Workload

A permanent point of attention remains the workload. In the Netherlands we have made work “top sport”. Mitigates all risk of injury and failure. The fact that recuperation is also part of doing top sport is slowly dawning, for example, in view of the phenomenon Recharge Days.

The collective labor agreement expires on 1 November

I cordially invite you to provide me with ideas, suggestions and advice with regard to changes / improvements that you would like to see realized in the terms of employment. Where is the priority? What is important? What is the lower limit and how far do you want to go? What do you think the upcoming negotiations should be about? Where are the accents, what is sacred and what can be discussed? I'd love to hear from you.

So far, negotiations at other companies and sectors have mainly focused on:

  • The shortage in the labor market
  • Inflation

New members welcome and very much needed at NXP Semiconductors

The past few years has De Unie - unfortunately – in a number of branches, sectors or companies said goodbye to the collective labor agreement consultations because the number of members had become too small. This does not have to be for eternity because a membership can of course also grow again. Do you want that De Unie continues to discuss the terms of employment at NXP Semiconductors on your behalf, make sure we stay out of the danger zone and recruit a new member every now and then. Join the conversation and strengthen our position at NXP. Also in 2022, being a member of an employee organization is still of great importance.

If you have any questions about the negotiations or if you want to give your opinion, please contact me via john.kapteijn@unie.nl or call 06-5252 2067.
