NXP: collective labor agreement 2022-2023

October 11, 2022

After a “round 0” on Thursday 15 September, the parties met for round I on Thursday 6 October. It should have been the start of the negotiations but it actually became an extension of “round 0”. In this way we have not yet got around to negotiating and it seems that on Wednesday 19 October the negotiations will actually start. Letters of proposals from employee organizations and from NXP have been exchanged back and forth. It is clear where the employees' thoughts are headed, but NXP is not that far yet, except in general directions.

You will find our proposals here. NXP's proposals had already been circulated internally.

Urgency and speed

The parties have mutually expressed their wish to have made agreements for the next collective labor agreement as of 1 November. This is not only the case with current inflation. The increasing tightness in the labor market also demands a lot from NXP in the area of Employer Branding. Because it all went so slowly in other years, NXP is now perhaps a bit surprised by the desired speed.

Wage space

In view of the special circumstances of the moment, it could just be that we will need all the wage space to make a structural salary increase of any magnitude. Are the other topics off the table? No, agreements can be made about the other subjects in order to develop them in more detail during the contract, so that they are "ready for use" for the next collective labor agreement.

Supporting the negotiators never hurts. After all, it is the members whose spokesperson and advocate they are. Your response is therefore more than welcome.

Feel free to send your message to me or let one of our executives hear from you.

That is for Eindhoven Nico van Bergen and colleagues in Nijmegen can contact Rob Verhaert.

We would like to make big steps on October 19, otherwise the “deadline” of November 1 will be jeopardized.
