There are a number of nice points in the final offer, which are often De Unie or proposed by trade unions. In addition, the employer has taken a big step in the last round with regard to wages for both 2022 and 2023. Unfortunately, there is no wage increase for the first year.

With all the 'pluses and minuses' that are in the offer, De Unie this final offer from NN neutral to its members.

Below is an explanation and advice for each part De Unie:

Main features

The main topics in the final offer are:

Salary

  • Salaries will be structurally increased on 1 July 2022 by 3%.
  • Salaries will be structurally increased on March 1, 2023 by 3%.
  • In addition, NN has promised a one-off payment for 2021 of € 1000 gross. This will be paid out in July 2022.
  • We have also made an agreement that employees who are paid low in their salary scale will grow faster.

Advice from De Unie

The one-off payment for 2021 is particularly disappointing. We would have liked to have seen a structural wage increase over the past year as well. The 3% in 2022 and in 2023 is in line with the joint efforts of trade unions in the recent period.

Duration

The term of the collective labor agreement is 3 years, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023.

Vitality leave

You are entitled to vitality leave. This means that once every five years you are entitled to take a longer leave of two months. You must have been employed for at least three years. During the vitality leave, 50% of your salary will continue to be paid. Your pension accrual and insurance will continue unchanged.

Advice from De Unie

This is an attractive improvement in NN's employment conditions.

Social plan

In the year 2022, the current social plan will be continued unchanged. For the year 2023, we have almost reached the same commitment. This was also an important assignment from the members to us!

Only the maximum of the severance payment will be lower with effect from 1 January 2023 at €275.000 (current amount €325.000). As a result, the maximum amount of the career allowance (Article 6.3 of the social plan) will also be set lower.

Advice from De Unie

This solution was established in close consultation between the trade unions and NN.

Retirement

It is proposed that the pension scheme be placed with BeFrank as of 1 October 2022 in the form of a defined contribution scheme. This represents an important step towards a future-proof pension scheme in line with the Future Pensions Act, which is expected to come into force on 1 January 2023. This is a substantial change. In order to support this, NN is prepared to make the following agreements:

  • A flat premium of 28%, including an employee contribution of 6%.
  • A premium of 2% (at the expense of NN) for risk coverage for surviving dependents and orphan's pension, as well as waiver of premium in the event of incapacity for work.
  • A compensation scheme at the expense of the employer.
  • Employees can adjust their own contribution up or down based on their own wishes, within tax limits and their financial situation.
  • A personal pension interview for all employees.
  • The pensions built up in the CDC pension fund remain there.
  • The Collective Labor Agreement parties will enter into discussions with the CDC pension fund about the conditions under which employees can voluntarily contribute the pension accrued with the CDC fund to BeFrank.

Advice from De Unie

Content is De Unie satisfied with the new pension scheme. The employer continues to pay the same premium plus a relatively good compensation scheme. The employee is given more options and is guided in the selection process at the employer's expense.

There is a caveat to this offer from NN

The new pension scheme is a stepping stone to the flexible contract, one of the two options in the new pension law. A transition at a later time to the solidary contract is therefore out of the picture. As trade unions, we aimed for an agreement that would allow us to keep the route to both the flexible contract and the solidary contract open. Then we would only have to make the choice between the two contract types in the coming years. An alternative was to extend the current arrangement. But this could also be a risky option for employees because we cannot estimate how large the accrual discount would be in the coming years. In addition, the choice of NN (defined contribution plan via BeFrank) would not be different in a few years' time.

Total package

In addition to the main points mentioned above, various other agreements have been made. The total package of appointments you can here proofread. As indicated, we present this to you neutrally, so without voting advice.

Final offer

NN has made a final offer. This means that we are out of negotiations and there is nothing more to talk about. If the majority of members vote against, NN will probably not be willing to renegotiate. The members of trade unions will then have to enforce a better collective labor agreement through campaigns.

Stemming

It's up to the members of De Unie to decide whether this collective labor agreement will be established. They have been invited to vote. This is possible until May 31, 2022.
