NN Group: Month of union activities

November 01 2022

On Tuesday, November 1, De Unie consulted with NN Group. In these periodic consultations, we discuss current events at NN Group, the elaboration of collective labor agreements and matters raised by the members of trade unions. On November 1, we discussed the following topics, among others

Month of the union

November is Trade Union Month at NN Group. In this month, NN brings the importance of trade unions to the attention of employees. For example, we are organizing a webinar with Dick Eijgenraam (Head of HR Netherlands) on the subject of Reorganizations and employment. This webinar is November 22 at 15.00 p.m. Do you have questions for the webinar? Please contact me, representative Inge de Vries, at. This can be done by sending an email to inge.de.vries@unie.nl.

Trade union month is traditionally the month in which NN employees who are not yet members of a trade union can join for a year at NN's expense. Maybe you have colleagues who are not yet members, point them to this option. Becoming a member now means that they can help decide on the new collective labor agreement during the collective bargaining in 2023. The more members the trade unions have, the more we can achieve in collective bargaining. For example, at ING De Unie 1.000 additional members registered in a short period of time, this really affects the way in which collective bargaining is conducted. It also certainly influences how the employer views trade unions. You can become a member here.

Inflation

Inflation remains unchanged high, from October 2021 to October 2022 inflation was 16,8%. In the periodic consultation of 28 September 2022, De Unie introduced this topic. In addition to the attention that NN gives to the Welfare Fund, De UnieAt the request of several members, NN highlighted options to accommodate employees during these difficult financial times.

At other companies we see that the employer supports the employees without obligation with a one-off payment, an increase in the homework allowance and/or an increase in the travel allowance. The government will expand the work-related costs scheme from 2023 to enable employers to do this tax-free.

In the consultation, De Unie asked NN Group whether the employer is also prepared to support employees financially. Many employers at this time meet the employees where possible. We also see in the financial sector that employers want to make a gesture. NN is considering the request of De Unie.

Retirement

The switch to the new pension scheme is now a fact. The information meetings were well attended and members generally indicate that NN is introducing the new pension scheme well. Have you already requested a pension insight conversation and a conversation about the compensation scheme? Do not miss this opportunity, it will provide you with a lot of knowledge.

I would like to point out an additional point to note. The NN-CDC pension fund is now a closed fund for NN staff. The pension fund has decided that, in connection with the closure, they will exchange the NP for all concerned as standard. In many cases this is not necessary because the NP is insured with your new pension scheme. You can ask questions about this in your pension insight conversation, it is discussed in the QenA on Sam and you can find information on the website of the NN-CDC pension fund. You have until March 31, 2023 to retroactively reverse the exchange.
